Everyone knows Steve Jobs as the genius behind Apple Inc. who revolutionized the world of telecommunication and communication as we know it. Born in San Francisco, California, he went to Reed College in 1972 before dropping out after his first semester. In 1976, Jobs launched an IT project that would go on to rule the world of computing and telecommunication but sadly, he would pass away in October 2011 at the age of 55. Even today, more than a decade after his passing, people still remember Jobs for being a visionary and for creating Apple Inc. But when it comes to the success of Apple Inc, what many people fail to see is the hard work and effort he put into it over the decades.

Though Jobs was mostly a private person, he finally opened up during his final years. Here are some interesting facts about the man behind Apple.

1. Steve Jobs named an Apple computer after his daughter

Steve Jobs was a father to four children, 3 of whom he shared with his wife, Laurene Powell Jobs. His first child, however, was with his then-girlfriend Chrisann Brennan and Jobs would later leave her to fend for herself as a single parent. Fast forward a few years and in 1983, he created a personal computer named Apple Lisa which was allegedly named after his daughter Lisa Nicole Brennan-Jobs. Steve would later go on record to deny this, stating that Lisa was an acronym that stood for Local Integrated Systems Architecture. However, Jobs did let the cat out of the bag at a later date when he finally admitted that the computer was, in fact, named after his firstborn.

2. Steve Jobs funded a graphic group that is now Pixar

Steve Job was a visionary and he had a keen eye for potentially successful projects. When Pixar was just a graphic group and a sub-company under Disney, he invested in it during its earlier years, before it became a spin-off company. Pixar went on to take the world by storm with hits like “Toy Story, A Bug’s Life” and “Ratatouille”, among others. Due to his involvement in the company during its infancy, Jobs was even credited for the films as an executive director.

3. Steve Jobs had a favorite outfit

You might’ve seen pictures of Steve Job wearing that iconic pair of glasses, a black turtleneck, jeans, and sneakers. Jobs was known for his style and his unique appearance would soon become his identity. Fun fact: it was rumored that Jobs owned some 100 pairs of the same Levis jeans.
