Who doesn’t love a vacation? But sometimes you can get bored of the typical scenic, relaxing vacations, with the same old scenery and natural beauty. Here are some of the weirdest and most interesting choices you can make for your next vacations:

Island of the Dolls, Mexico:

Isla de Munecas, or the Island of the Dolls is situated in the south of Mexico City, near Xochimilco. It has the creepiest vibes of all the tourist attractions in Mexico. Raggedy old dolls hang from the branches of the dead trees in this island, and tourists love visiting the place to enjoy the scary vibe of the place.

According to the legend, a little girl had drowned off an island hidden in the canals of Xochimilco. A hermit named Don Julian, who lived near the island found one doll after the other from the canals. He took it as a sign from the evil spirits, and began hanging these dolls on the trees in the island.  The entire island turned a shrine to the dolls.

The Karni Mata temple is situated near Bikaner in India, where rats are special guests. According to the legend, Karni Mata asked the death-god Yoma to reincarnate the son of a storyteller. When the God of Death refused, she promised to reincarnate all male storytellers to be reincarnated as rats. As the die as rats, they would be reincarnated again as Karni Mata’s descendents, also known as the Depavats.

The temple is home to 20,000 rats, where they are well-fed and taken care of. Visitors to the temple hold these rats in high esteem, and consider it auspicious if a rat steps on them or if they catch a glimpse of the rare albino rats at the temple.

Icelandic Phallological Museum, Iceland

The Phallological museum of Iceland was founded and curated by Sigurður Hjartarson. Hjartarson had an interest in phallic objects since his childhood, and he collected organs of Icelandic animals from around the country to create the extraordinary museum.

The museum houses the world’s largest collection of animal penises, 215 penises of Icelandic land and sea animals to be precise.
